A native of South Florida, Dr. Curtis Anderson attended the University of Miami where he received both a medical degree and a doctorate of philosophy in Biochemistry. He completed an internship at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, Alabama and his residency in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Virginia Medical Center (UVA), where he also earned a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Anderson has extensive training in the treatment and management of advanced peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage. Since completing his training, he has further developed his skills in treating advanced symptoms of vascular disease. He also specializes in advanced endovascular methods to treat abdominal and thoracic aneurysms. Additionally, he has specialized training in the minimally invasive treatment of hepatobiliary disorders and various cancers (a new field called "Interventional Oncology"). While at the University of Virginia, Dr. Anderson obtained industry-funded research experience for developing and evaluating medical imaging devices to enhance the understanding of vascular diseases. He was also noted to have performed the first prostate embolization as a treatment for benign prostatic hypertrophy at UVA. Since then, he has continued to grow his prostate embolization practice in South Florida. Dr. Anderson has been recognized for his outstanding achievements and work in the field of interventional radiology and has published extensively and spoken around the country. Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, Radiological Society of North America, and Society of Interventional Radiology. He is licensed in the states of Virginia and Florida. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic and Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Anderson has now branched out on his own and started Florida Endovascular and Interventional situated in Miami Lakes. In his new office-based procedure center, he can focus on evaluating and treating patients with vascular disease and other conditions in which minimally invasive therapies are available. When appropriate, the treatments can usually be performed in the office without the need for hospitalization. Known for his compassion and devotion to his patients, Dr. Andersons new practice will continue a "patient-centered" approach to limb salvage and patient care.
