Based in Central Austin, Dr. Emmanual Edoka has seen many elderly residents of Austin, Texas. At his practice, Austin Adult GeriMed, he provides a full range of services, including weight management, annual gynecological exams, diabetes treatment, chronic disease management, immunizations and annual physicals. A respected primary care physician who has been serving the city for more than 25 years, Dr. Edoka is regarded by many of his patients and peers as one of the leading geriatric care specialists in the city. After graduating from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine with his medical degree, Dr. Edoka went through Meharry Medical College’s residency program. Today, he is board-certified in both geriatric medicine and internal medicine, and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. In addition to his board certifications and fellowship, Dr. Edoka also maintains memberships with the following professional organizations: The Texas Medical Association The American Medical Directors Association The American College of Physicians The Travis County Medical Society He is affiliated with Saint David’s Medical Center, a nearby hospital. Dr. Edoka has been caring for patients in Austin since 1991. As a primary care physician, he is qualified to provide preventative medicine, diagnose and treat ailments and injuries, and provide referrals to specialists when appropriate. In addition to treating patients at his practice, Dr. Edoka volunteers annually to provide athletic physicals for low-income student athletes in East Austin. This is just one way he is able to give back to the community that he is glad to be part of. When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Edoka enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. JoAnne Wise Edoka, who is a pediatrician. They have two grown children, Elise and Paul, and are active members of Shoreline Church. Dr. Edoka also enjoys skiing, traveling, and studying photography.
