The club has hosted the Los Angeles Open, now known as the Northern Trust Open, on several occasions. The North Course completed a renovation in 2010 by architect Gil Hanse. Jim Schaeffer is the Director of Golf.

Owned by its members, the club has various recreational and social facilities, including tennis courts, a club house and dining rooms. The grounds are open only to members and their guests, with an enforced dress code.
