Established in 1972, Elcam is a nonprofit, social business enterprise that provides work and community living support for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. It specializes in the manufacturing, machining, assembly and inspection of metal, plastic and rubber components. Elcam has achieved its ISO 9001:2000 certification from the International Organization for Standardization. It administers various employment programs that fall under state and federal regulations and annual on-site review and licensing requirements. The organization offers a variety of services including machining, inspection and sorting, assembly, packaging and component manufacturing for industrial customers. In addition, Elcam operates a community center that teaches and promotes skills in the areas of independent living, personal and social communication, decision making, and physical and mental health.
