This chapel is part of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church dubbed "the freedom religion." A faith-based organization founded in 1796, it claims more than one million in membership. This ministry is focused on the salvation of the whole person, mind, body and soul by "spreading the good news of the gospel." Services are uplifting and joyful with plenty of singing.
The Peninsula Free Methodist Church is located on Jefferson Avenue in Redwood City. It offers both English and Japanese sermons. It also has a Sunday school and an active youth group for children, which gathers regularly for worship, games and snacks. Bible study and small groups are available as well.
The 140-year-old church has services in english and in Tongan multiple days a week. In addition to Sunday services, the Church's 400-person congregation can explore the Tongan culture. The Sequoia Children's Center provides educational and development services for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. The Tongan youth group celebrates the Sunday service every third Sunday of the month in song and dance.
The Woodside Road United Methodist Church is a family church with a strong sense of community. In addition to the weekly Sunday sermon, it features a range of programs, including bible study, youth choir, Sunday school, and a joint youth fellowship group with First Congregational Church. The Redwoods Internationale Montessori House of Children Preschool is attached to this church as well, providing excellent care for children.
