Blue Sky Studios is a wholly owned unit of Fox Filmed Entertainment and is headquartered in White Plains, N.Y. The studio offers high-resolution, computer-generated character animation services for feature films, televisions and entertainment modes. Its proprietary software, CGI Studio, is based on the concept of raytracing and simulates the way light behaves on objects and surfaces in a natural environment. Blue Sky Studios maintains a rigging department that evaluates models and inserts computer-generated skeletons with a set of controls. Its rendering team compiles the detailed pieces of shots into film resolution frames. The studio s editorial group crops, rearranges and replaces shots, records scratch tracks, and inserts sound effects and music throughout the film. Blue Sky Studios projects include Bunny, Ice Age, A Simple Wish and The Sopranos.
