Ardenwood Historic Farm is a public park maintained by the East Bay Regional Park District. Founded in the 1850's, the Ardenwood Historic Farm is a historical destination that still operates as an authentic turn-of-the-century farm. It grows traditional crops and produce from the last century and a half, using agricultural practices from the 1870's to the present. The interpretive staff, dressed in Victorian clothing, offers tours, information and authentic demonstrations that teach the history of agriculture and culture overall unique to the region and era. The farm is open Tuesday through Sunday, with activities changing seasonally. Group packages and picnics can be reserved.

The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose is an international religious community that provides Christian education to low-income children in California, Oregon and Arizona, as well as Mexico and Germany. The community operates the Vision of Hope development program to maintain financial support for inner-city schools, as well as the Circles of St. Dominic program. The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose provides education in more than 20 schools and serves over 1,500 students in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Oakland. It maintains a health care facility and offers nursing, personal and residential care services to members. The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose is located in Fremont, Calif.
