Linda Giffin is a Massachusetts-certified public school music educator. She teaches vocal, instrumental and general music to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Giffin also offers private voice and piano lessons and recitals in her home for adults, children and those with special needs. A free evaluation is available before lessons begin.
The Marblehead School of Music was founded by Steve and Jennifer Spungin. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Steve has taught private and group music instruction in guitar, bass, piano, drums and violin since 2000, while Jennifer, a Tufts graduate with a Ph.D. in teaching, has worked with students in the Boston public school system since 2001. Both are passionate about music and education, and the Marblehead School of Music is the natural extension of that passion. Music classes include all varieties of instruments and vocals, as well as workshops like guitar building, the "MyBand" program for kids and more.
Steve and Jennifer are supporters of the Marblehead Arts. Steve was instrumental in bringing one of the greatest guitarists in the world, Pierre Bensusan, to perform at the Marblehead Arts Festival in 2008.
Jeremy Sheehan has been giving drum lessons since 1991. Sheehan teaches reading, technique, performance and theory skills to all ages of percussionists. A seasoned performer, Sheehan also offers his talents as a substitute drummer for area cover bands, and is also available to sit in as your drummer on your latest studio recording. Is your drum out of tune or in need of repair? In addition to tuning or repairing, Sheehan will teach you how to do either yourself.
Mr. C's Music is a full-service music shop that carries a large inventory of instruments for rent and purchase. Mr. C's has a wide selection of guitars, including several vintage models, in addition to drums, violins, keyboards, saxophones and more. It offers an instrument repair and modification service, as well as instrument and voice lessons. In addition, Mr. C's carries music accessories and peripheral equipment. Mr. C's Music is located on Boston Post Road (Rte. 20 West) at the Northborough line.
Sharon Music Academy offers music education for a wide variety of instruments. This includes piano, voice, guitar, string and woodwinds. Private and group classes are available. Instruction is available for adults and children as young as four with its preschool program. In addition to year-round classes, it also offers summer programs.
