The Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation (SALEF) is a local police charity organization. SALEF is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization (TIN 20-0559408). Established in 2003, SALEF has funded critical life-saving protective equipment, technology items & officer safety training opportunities. SALEF provides support to our regional law enforcement partners including; the Tucson Police Department, the Marana Police Department, the University of Arizona Police Department and the Pima County Sheriffs Department. SALEF raises money by presenting all inclusive community fundraising events such as the Unsung Heroes Gala, the Safe Teen Accident Reduction Training Program (START), the Motorcycle Poker Run, The Canine Walk for Cops, the Kids Back to School Safety Fair, the Charity Golf Tournament and the largest one-day car show in Arizona Cops & Rodders Car Truck and Motorcycle Show. SALEF also submits for and receives grants as well as generous community and business donations. SALEF is honored to partner with regional law enforcement and has had the opportunity to fund or supplement the funding of items the Officers need that the departments are budget strapped to provide. SALEF has provided the following: Patrol K9 service dogs, Bomb detection service K9s, throwbot robots, pelican lights, LRAD devices, rolling ballistic shields, individual officer ballistic and rifle grade shields, a buy/bust vehicle, graffiti abatement cameras and technology, patrol motorcycles, window tint test meters, weapon safety holsters, a large variety of special operations equipment and protective gear and over 450 ballistic vests.
