La Jolla Symphony & Chorus is a leading promoter of classical musical performances in the San Diego area. Each season features talented individuals and groups to entertain audiences. Concerts are held at UCSD's Mandeville Auditorium. A map is available from UCSD's visitor office. Parking for the facility is in lots 206 and 207. Refreshments are offered from an outdoor coffee cart, including hot and cold beverages, pastries and snacks.
Music outreach and educational programs are available for student groups in elementary school through high school. La Jolla Symphony & Chorus also supports emerging musical artists through a Young Artists Competition. It holds Outreach Concerts in a number of San Diego churches and temples, as well.
The Institute of the Americas is a not-for-profit organization established 27 years ago on the UCSD campus. The Institute maintains a frank and open dialogue among countries in the Americas in order to improve people's political, economic and social wellbeing.
The Darlington House is a hidden jewel in La Jolla. Once a vacation home, it has now become an event space for all occasions large or small. The location offers an expansive catering kitchen, decor, set up services and a number of catering options. Those who choose to host an event at this location can personalize every detail. Proceeds go to the non-profit benefit corporation, the Social Service League of La Jolla.
