The Children's Place is a preschool open to all families of all faiths; teachers emphasize improving basic cognitive skills through problem-solving activities. Enrichment programs include music, movement and vocabulary and special-needs children may be accompanied by an aide. The children also enjoy weekly walks within the neighborhood and visit the park, explore the beach, visit the local fire station, library and the stores on Main Street. All staff members are active in state and local professional associations. The staff also participates in continuous in-service education and is trained in CPR.

Since 1946, Boys and Girls Club of America has been providing a positive environment to keep kids and adolescents on the right path. An after school program allows a safe place for children to spend free time, play games, socialize, work on their homework and learn different skill sets while their parents are working. Clubs, groups and sports teams are available and kids can take part in arts and crafts. During the summer months, full day programs are available, with field trip excursions and special celebrations. The club is meant to provide a positive outlet for children with a lot of free time, encouraging positive activities and the feelings that come from achieving.
This Lincoln Blvd. facility in Santa Monica has a full skate park, with board, helmet and pad rentals for club members. A van is available for after school pick-up from local elementary and junior high schools.
18th Street Arts Center has been a champion of the arts in the Santa Monica area for over 20 years. The center occupies a 25,000-square-foot lot on 18th Street that houses five buildings with space for two art galleries, the center's main office, a project room, 27 studios (live-in and workspace), and 10 commercial offices. The center acts as the umbrella provider for Highways Performance Space, EZ TV, Lightning Bolts Pix, and Continuum/Montage. The Artists in Residency program draws international, local/national, and original Arts Center artists with stipends as well as living and work space. The gallery space annually features the work of eight artists through the Artists Fellowship Program. Themes are created and submissions are reviewed. Recipients are given the opportunity to experiment and play when creating new work at the Center.
