20th Judicial District / Boulder County conducts parenting seminars and provides domestic violence prevention services. It is a part of the Colorados State Court System, which is comprised of trial and appellate courts. The system maintains Colorado Supreme Court, which hears appeals from the court of appeals. Its district courts hear civil cases, as well as domestic relations, criminal, juvenile, probate and mental health cases. The Colorados State Court System also operates county courts that handle cases related to misdemeanors, traffic infractions, felony complaints, protection orders and small claims. It also maintains water courts that have jurisdiction over cases concerning with the determination of water rights and use and administration of water. The system is governed by Colorado State Judicial Branch, which works to protect constitutional and statutory rights and liberties.
