Seniors Helping Seniors is a provider of home-care services for seniors; senior volunteer provide assistance to those in need. Service hours are flexible and tailored to meet the client's schedule and needs.
The South Central Connecticut office serves the towns of Madison, Guilford, Branford, Westbrook, Durham, Haddam, Chester, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, East Haven, North Haven, North Branford, Old Saybrook, and Clinton. Services include cooking, yard work, respite care, care for dementia or Alzheimer's, providing transporation for doctor's visits, dressing and grooming, companionship, and light housekeeping.
Orchard House is a non-profit adult day care center. Most visitors to the center are between the ages of 75 and 85 and likely have a diagnosis of some form of dementia (not necessarily Alzheimer's). The center is staffed with medical specialists, therapists, nurses, home care providers and volunteers. It is a regional day program that offers activities such as music and art therapy, bowling and computer games and more. Clients do not spend the night at the center.
