The Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center is a non-profit interfaith service that provides support for the elderly. The organization was founded in 1995 and is a cooperative of Farmingdale United Methodist Church, St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, St. Killian's Roman Catholic Church and St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Adult day programs and services are offered to assist elderly clients who are dealing with medical or social problems. Activities include arts and crafts, live entertainment, group exercise, pet therapy, blackboard activities and lectures. Volunteers provide clients with meals, assistance with everyday functions such as walking and eating, and monthly support groups.
This is one of 13 homes operated by The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island. It provides 24-hour care for adults with epilepsy and other conditions. Residents participate in a range of educational, creative and recreational activities that promote personal growth, community involvement and general well-being.
