Earthstone Energy Inc. an independent oil and gas exploration company that focuses its efforts on discovering new sources of oil and natural gas reserves, acquiring strategically significant properties and boosting cash flows from existing oil and gas production. The company aims to capitalize on its knowledge and presence in the North Dakota and Montana portions of the Williston basin, the Denver-Julesburg basin of Colorado, the southern portions of Texas and along the Texas Gulf Coast. Based in Delaware and formed in 1969 as a geographical services company, it survived the collapse of oil prices in the mid-1980s by selling several key assets to pay off significant debt. After replacing management in 1993, the company began a decade of acquiring producing properties. Since 2002, Earthstone Energy has posted multiple profitable quarters and has reinvested cash into exploration drilling.
