Joe Piper is one of the premier distributors of bleached job-lot paperboard in North America. In 1968, Joe Piper began purchasing the rejected milk carton stock from a mill supplier and used it to create bleached paperboard. Within a few years, Joe Piper expanded to become a nationwide supplier of poly-coated paperboard. The company has its own conversion plant with two sheeters and two slitter rewinders, giving Joe Piper the capability of providing custom sheet and roll sizes. Joe Piper produces uncoated cup stock, cup poly, uncoated milk carton stock and milk carton poly. The company has a 400,000-square-foot warehouse in Birmingham, Ala., that distributes these products to customers worldwide. A second 350,000-square-foot warehouse is under construction.
