Founded in 1987, Norbord is a public, international producer of wood-based panels with more than 15 plant locations in the United States, Europe and Canada. It specializes in the manufacture of particleboard, medium-density fiberboard, hardwood plywood and related products. The company, formerly known as Noranda Forest, employs a work force of over 2,700 people. It maintains a specialty plywood mill, I-joist facility, furniture plant, medium-density fiberboard centers and mills. Norbord serves various builders, architects and engineers. It features products under the Windstorm, TruFlor, TallWall, Stabledge and Solar Board brands. Norbord operates oriented strand board mills in Cordele in Georgia and Jefferson and Nacogdoches in Texas.
