The City of Hesperia, Calif., has a population of more than 84,000 residents. It is operated under a mayor and four council members form of government. The City of Hesperia has various full-time departments and volunteer committees, including health, finance, economic development, public information, engineering, management services, parks and recreation, planning and zoning, police, public works and sewerage authority. Its department of public works is responsible for the construction and maintenance of all city-owned property, including public buildings, streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, water mains, sewer lines, cemeteries and parks. Additionally, it provides protection and maintenance of lakes, storm drains and wastewater collection systems within the city.
