EStablished in 1922, Rinconada Park is a nineteen acre public park featuring a municipal pool, the Lucie Stern Community Center, the Junior Museum, a zoo, two playgrounds, jogging and walking paths, nine tennis courts and picnic areas.
This park is comprised of a wetlands preserve as well as some nice trails for on-leash dog walking. Despite its location adjacent to the Palo Alto dumps, the park has a fresh breeze off the water and some nice views. The landscaping and landfill effort emphasized similarities to ohlone shell mounding. Restrooms and parking are available.
Elizabeth Gamble Garden Center includes formal and demonstration gardens, a historic home, a carriage and tea house. This non-profit also has a library and master gardeners to answer all your gardening questions. Roam the gorgeous grounds -- for free -- or attend one of its signature events, like a Garden Fresh Luncheon or docent-led tour. You can also rent the Center for weddings and other special events.
According to the City of Palo Alto website, this 9.6 acre neighborhood park is the second largest neighborhood park in Palo Alto (the largest being Cornelis Bol Park). About half of the park is developed with playgrounds, mounding turf, picnic areas and walking/jogging trails, while the other half consist of community gardens such as UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Demonstration Garden as well as Memorial Grove (located on the Center Street side of the park).

The Pearson-Arastradero Preserve is a combination of grasslands and evergreen forest. It offers a lake and numerous trails for hiking, walking and horseback riding; on-leash dog walking is permitted. The preserve has a 275- to 775-foot elevation and is home to bobcats, deer, coyotes and numerous birds.

In addition to pet adoption and a wide range of educational resources for pet owners, they provide animal control services and respond to animal nuisance complaints. They offer low-cost spay/neuter, vaccination and licensing for your dog, cat, rabbit guinea pig or rat, and some financial assistance is available.
