Both master gardeners and aspiring green thumbs sow their seeds at Naperville Garden Plots. More than 400 people plant and tend to gardens each year. In 2010, there were 495 plots for rent. Church groups, families and individuals plant a wide variety of crops, from tomatoes to watermelons, pumpkins to peas. Residents and non-residents have the option of renting a plot for a nominal fee. The growing season begins in April and ends in October.

For more than 70 years, members of the Naperville Sportsman's Club have shared their love of shooting sports and preserving the great outdoors. The clubhouse and shooting range are open Sundays and Thursdays, and offer the public a chance to learn about the sport and enjoy the newly renovated facilities. When shooters aren't on the range's two fields, they can visit the 800-square-foot clubhouse, which is air-conditioned and features a small kitchen and area to socialize. The range includes three trapshooting ranges, one horseshoe pit, two ponds and trails. The cost to shoot for Naperville residents is $4.75 for singles/wobble trap (25 targets) and $8.50 for doubles trap (50 targets). Costs for non-residents are $6 and $11, respectively.
