The Berkeley Township Department of Parks, Recreation & Beaches offers a wide variety of activities and facilities for township residents. Ocean beaches, a number of township parks, a children's summer camp, men's senior softball league, athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic facilities and bus trips for seniors are available. The department also operates youth sports for boys and girls, including baseball, softball, football, cheerleading, soccer, wrestling, basketball, swim team and roller hockey.
Corson's Inlet State Park is 98 acres of undeveloped land at the southern tip of Ocean City. It offers a glimpse of what the island may have looked like hundreds of years ago. The area is a popular spot for fishing, hiking and beachgoing. The park has a public boat ramp used by fishermen and personal watercraft. A system of trails lets hikers explore the dune system, and the remote beaches provide a chance to escape the summer crowds. Access is from a parking lot on the causeway between Ocean City and Strathmere or from 59th Street and the beach in Ocean City.
Rocky Top Dog Park is a fee-based facility operated by South Brunswick Township. The park contains three fenced-in areas for small, medium and large dogs. It also contains a walking path, a pavilion and a small pond.
Washington Township Parks & Recreation is in charge of all area recreational parks and facilities. Locations include Washington Lake Park, the amphitheater, golf course, James G. Atkinson Old Stone House Village and Washington Township Dog Park.
The YMCA's Camp Zehnder YMCA Outdoor Recreation Center is a 140-acre wooded area hosting outdoor programs and summer camps for kids ages 3 - 15. The facility features an outdoor pool, a basketball court, soccer fields, an archery range, a sand volleyball court, nature trails, a high-ropes adventure course, and areas for fishing and kayaking.
