Hamilton County Park District, founded in 1930, protects local natural resources of Cincinnati, and provides outdoor recreation and education programs for the residents. It is a political subdivision of the state of Ohio and the Hamilton County. The district is comprised of several parks, such as the Avoca Park, Embshoff Woods and Nature Preserve, Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve, Fernbank Park, Kroger Hills, Glenwood Gardens, Lake Isabella, Miami Whitewater Forest and Otto Armleder Memorial Park. It offers a wide range of recreation activities, such as boating, camping, fishing, hiking, horse riding, and tracking and trailing. The parks also provide an athletic program that includes various sports, such as soccer, golf, volleyball and softball. In addition, Hamilton County Park District provides education and safety training programs for adventure sports, and organizes summer day camps, school scout program, camp cooking and flower workshop.
