The Bexley Recreation Department coordinates, promotes and develops various recreational services and programs for sports and recreational activities. It operates the Jeffrey Park that consists of two commonwealth parks, play apparatus for children, two tennis courts, picnic areas with grills, a swimming complex, and basketball and volleyball courts. It studies local conditions and develops immediate and long-range plans to meet recreational needs of all age groups. The Bexley Recreation Department also operates the Shelter House, a family-style restaurant, which accommodates up to 100 people. The department maintains an activities club that provides a range of sports activities for senior citizens.
