Ooh La La Dance Company is a dance instruction and training studio located on Cuvier Street in La Jolla. The location offers a wide range of programs and lessons, specializing in salsa and burlesque lessons for all levels and ages. Some programs and lessons offered include jazz, swing, contemporary dance, ballet, cabaret, belly dancing, hip hop, cha cha and Latin dance. La Jolla Symphony & Chorus is a leading promoter of classical musical performances in the San Diego area. Each season features talented individuals and groups to entertain audiences. Concerts are held at UCSD's Mandeville Auditorium. A map is available from UCSD's visitor office. Parking for the facility is in lots 206 and 207. Refreshments are offered from an outdoor coffee cart, including hot and cold beverages, pastries and snacks.
Music outreach and educational programs are available for student groups in elementary school through high school. La Jolla Symphony & Chorus also supports emerging musical artists through a Young Artists Competition. It holds Outreach Concerts in a number of San Diego churches and temples, as well.
Founded in 1947 by Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire and Mel Ferrer, the La Jolla Playhouse was established to present plays, both classical and musical, for the community. Located on University of California at San Diego's campus, this nonprofit theater has received more than 300 local and national awards. Listings and showtimes can be found online.
