The Atlana Humane Society officially opened its Alpharetta campus on Mansell Road on Dec. 3, 2011. This was the first operational expansion for the Humane Society in 138 years. The 32,000-square-foot building no longer resembles a car dealership, which is what the building once housed.
The facility is located on seven acres just off of Mansell Road. The campus contains a 1,600 square foot clinic, four 1/4 acre enclosed free runs, 64 dog kennels, 32 puppie suites, 72 cat/kitten condos, and four free roam rooms for up to eight cats each. In total, the facility can handle between 64-138 dogs and 104-176 cats.
The facility has a covered receiving area. Being located so close to the Mansell Road interchange for GA 400 makes it easily accessible to Roswell and Sandy Springs residents as well. The campus serves Johns Creek and Milton as well.
The facility takes in admissions for families who can no longer keep their dogs and cats. There is a $40 fee, and you'll have to call first: 404.974.2847
