As a specialist in sports medicine focused on the shoulder and knee, Dr. Brown has had the opportunity to work at a variety of world-class institutions while providing care for athletes both on and off the field. Dr. Brown completed his orthopaedic residency at the top-ranked Duke University Medical Center, where he trained in all areas of orthopaedics while participating in team physician coverage for two local high schools, North Carolina Central University and Duke University. Dr. Brown pursued subspecialty training in sports medicine and was selected to attend the world-renowned Stanford University Fellowship Program in California. He trained with orthopaedic surgeons in the treatment of complex knee and shoulder problems, working with elite athletes as he provided team physician coverage for the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers as well as the NCAA Division I Stanford Cardinals. In addition to clinical care, Dr. Brown’s research has been published in book chapters as well as research journals. Returning to Western New York, Dr. Brown practices sports medicine at the Finger Lakes Bone and Joint Center. His interests include ACL or PCL reconstruction, cartilage replacement procedures, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, and arthroscopic shoulder stabilization. An avid outdoors man, Dr. Brown enjoys hunting, fishing and being outside. His wife is a native Western New Yorker and together they have two young children.
