Located on the corner of Los Vaqueros Circle and Cerritos Avenue, The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is more commonly known as the Mormon church. The church offers teaching and guidance in regards to family, God and the meaning of life. The church also holds several events such as a snorkeling trips and conferences. Well-manicured lawns and tropical landscaping welcome visitors and members of its congregation into this large church.
Cottonwood Church is a nondenominational Christian church. It was established in 1983 with just 50 people attending its Sunday morning service. Today, this church has a following of over 5,000 people.
The facilities are as grand as any athletic complex or stadium, spanning a full block off Katella Avenue. It features an onsite bookstore, leadership college and several different service ministries. Senior Pastors Bayless and Janet Conley aim to "Bring a Living Jesus to a Dying World."
St. Hedwig's Catholic Church is at 11502 Los Alamitos, right next to the rectory and office at 11482. Many special groups are hosted by the church, including a Bible Study that's met for 33 years. There's also the Legion of Mary, ministries of health and youth, a contemplative prayer group and a community prayer network.
St. Hedwig's school, which sits behind the rectory, teaches children from kindergarten through 8th grade.
The Community Congregational United Church of Christ, or CCUCC, prides itself on being an all-inclusive church. It accepts everyone in the community, regardless of race, age, socioeconomic status or sexual orientation. The church had its first meetings in a sugar beet factory in 1896 and was simply called the "community church." Over the years, this church has transformed itself into a progressive establishment. CCUCC also owns and operates the nondenominational Mayflower preschool nearby. Sunday service is at 10am.
The First Baptist Church of Los Alamitos is conveniently located on Green Street, near Los Alamitos Boulevard and Katella. This church offers a few different services and times on different days to meet your needs. The pastor is also available for individual and family appointments. Youth Group meetings, contemporary services and Sunday school for younger ages are all offered to the community.
