In the House of Prayer Lutheran Church members come together to celebrate their faith and God's grace. Founded in 1964, the church has adult, youth and children's choirs for the musically inclined. Services include a Saturday evening service at 4:30pm and a Sunday morning service at 9:30am. Coffee fellowship and Sunday School follow at 10:45am. The newly constructed church was completed in 2000 and now welcomes more than 150 local Hingham families to worship.
This abbey's history dates back to 1954, when its parent abbey, the Benet Lake Abbey in Wisconsin, founded it. Apartments for the elderly were established in 1980 in Hingham and in 2001, the Abbey Center opened and now serves the South Shore with social, educational and cultural events. Named after a medieval monastery in England, Glastonbury Abbey hosts lecture series and retreats and conducts adult education programs in scripture. The grounds are beautifully kept and the Abbey Center itself is tucked into the woods.
The Hope Church is led by Pastor Phil Andrade. The church hosts men's small group sessions at 7pm on Mondays and Bible study at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. The church members are becoming known as "the people who serve people," says Pastor Phil Andrade, who has been at the church since 1997. Members volunteer to support the community, he says. "We really believe what God says in the Scriptures, and that's kind of the pathway for our lives," Andrade says.
Pie fans recently gathered at The First Congregational Church for its annual "Best Pie In Town" contest. The Rev. Helen Nablo is pastor of this Protestant church.
Our Lady of Sorrows is a Roman Catholic church located on Cottage Street next to the Cottage Street School. The Rev. Scott A. Euvrard leads the church, according to the Archdiocese of Boston's website.

The Church on the Hill, or the Boston Society of the New Jerusalem, is a Christian church following the teachings of Swedenborgianism, a movement created in the 18th century by Swedish scientist and theologian Emanuel Swedenborg.
The church was established in 1818 but traces its creation in Boston back to 1784, when a group of men started meeting regularly at the Green Dragon Tavern to discuss Swedenborg's teachings before deciding to form a church. The church has been on Beacon Hill since 1845.

Park Street Church has been conducting worship services at the same place at the foot of Beacon Hill for more than 200 years. The Evangelical Congregational church is well established in Boston with a congregation size of more than 1,500 people, 60 percent of whom hail from Boston proper.
The church at 0 Park Street is connected to a large church office building at 1 Park Street that also houses Park Street Kids, a local preschool started by Park Street parents 10 years ago.
Church officials describe services as liturgically oriented and traditional. Four services are held every Sunday, with traditional services at 8:30am and 11am and contemporary-style services at 4pm and 6pm.
