Come out and see one of Palo Alto's beautiful city parks. Mitchell Park has it all, from a swimming pool to softball diamonds and tennis courts. When you need to get outside you will find Mitchell Park offers so much. Plenty of parking is available, as are tons of shade from trees that surround the park. Dogs are welcome, so grab your frisbee and enjoy.
According to the City of Palo Alto website, this 9.6 acre neighborhood park is the second largest neighborhood park in Palo Alto (the largest being Cornelis Bol Park). About half of the park is developed with playgrounds, mounding turf, picnic areas and walking/jogging trails, while the other half consist of community gardens such as UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Demonstration Garden as well as Memorial Grove (located on the Center Street side of the park).
Palo Alto Elks Lodge was established in 1923 to hold social events that aid veterans, youths and disadvantaged and handicapped individuals. The Lodge features a fitness center, where members may swim or play handball or racquetball. A bistro, featuring soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, wine, beer, is located on the premises.
