Shorty Howell Park has a little bit of everything expected and loved about a park. Huge athletic fields, walking trails, activity center, a pond, playgrounds, pavilions, picnic areas, and grills - it is a great place for outdoor fun and exercise. It's located right off busy Pleasant Hill Road, but it is scenic and relaxing.
W.P. Jones Memorial Park is located in the heart of the city of Duluth, and features nice tennis courts, lovely playgrounds, picnic areas and a small creek in a picturesque setting. It's gorgeous wooded areas and cheerfully colored jungle gyms make it an ideal place to spend a day with the family.
Located adjacent to Duluth City Hall on Main Street, Taylor Park reminds visitors of the city's railroad history and allows children to clamber over playground equipment with a train theme. The half-acre city park features a miniature train depot/picnic pavilion, a replica of a water tower with a slide and playground equipment shaped like an engine, passenger car, tanker and caboose. The park land was given to the city by the Kelley Family in 1996. The train-themed improvements were completed in 2009.
Bunten Road Park boasts many amenities, including splendid soccer fields, baseball fields and winding walking trails all in a beautiful natural setting. Enjoy a picnic in the pavilion while the kids play in the well-equipped playground.
