The Juneau Police Department is a law enforcement agency that provides general security and protection services to the citizens of Juneau, Alaska. The department consists of two divisions, including administrative support services and operations. In addition, it maintains several units, such as patrol, investigations, community service, records and dispatch. The Juneau Police Department also has special sections for the Special Weapons and Tactics, bomb disposal and hostage negotiation teams. It also provides online crime statistics, property auctions, crime reporting and option of payment of court fines. The department operates a neighborhood watch program that provides protection against crime and illegal activity and curtails drug dealing and involvement. Additionally, the Juneau Police Department provides protection against destruction of private property and harassing phone calls.
