The Anaheim Police Department Detective Division is responsible for the investigations of felony and misdemeanor crimes in its jurisdiction. The division specializes in the identification, apprehension, interrogation and prosecution of offenders. It also provides a range of case clearance services. The Anaheim Police Department Detective Division also processes stolen and recovered properties. Additionally, its detectives investigate variety of non-criminal activities, such as missing persons and juvenile related matters. The Anaheim Police Department is composed of many different divisions, bureaus and operating units. It features a detectuve division, bike team, street narcotics unit, sexual assault detail, gang detail, K-9 unit and a domestic violence unit. The department encourages a problem solving, community policing philosophy and works collaboratively with the community in addressing problems of crime and disorder.

Anaheim Police Association was incorporated in 1967. It is the only recognized bargaining unit for the men and women serving as police officers in the City of Anaheim. The APA is community minded and strives to participate in activities and programs that will improve the quality of life in the City of Anaheim. Every year, the APA donates money and time to benefit numerous charities, groups and organizations in Anaheim and throughout Orange County. The Goal of Anaheim Police Association is to advance the professional, educational, economic and social welfare of its members, and to improve the fraternity of its members. Retired Anaheim Police Officers The Anaheim Police Association office has been located in the heart of Anaheim at 508 N. Anaheim Blvd since 1974.
