The Fontana Police Department is a community-oriented police agency. The department operates a record bureau that provides information about incident reports, restraining orders, fingerprinting, arrests, accidents and firearm permits. The Fontana Police Department offers the COPS in Schools program for more than 1,800 students. It operates a patrol division that participates in safety programs for schools, neighborhood watch groups and community outreach centers.
