Orange Police Department serves a community of nearly 135,000 people. The police department has approximately 200 sworn officers. The Orange Police Departments citizen police academy provides community members with an inside look at local law enforcement. The personnel and training unit is responsible for critical functions within the police department. Its function is to ensure that all personnel receive the proper training and certification for each persons job, assignment, or rank within the department. The administration division supports the patrol and detective functions of the police department by providing recruiting and background investigation, training, fiscal affairs, records, volunteers and chaplains programs, alarm billing fleet and facility maintenance.
