Pilgrims Pride Corporation owns and operates 26 chicken processing plants (22 in the United States, three in Mexico and one in Puerto Rico), eight chicken prepared foods plants, two turkey processing plants, one turkey further processing plant and feed mills, hatcheries and grow out facilities to supply these plants. The company processes more than 30 million birds per week for more than 6 billion pounds of poultry per year. The company exports commodity chicken and turkey products to more than 70 countries, including Japan, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. Pilgrims Pride products are sold to food service, retail and frozen entree customers. The companys primary distribution is through retailers, food service distributors and restaurants throughout the United States and Puerto Rico and in the Northern and Central regions of Mexico. Headquartered in Pittsburg, Texas, Pilgrims Pride is the second-largest chicken producer in the United States. The company, which also operates a facility in Gainesville, Ga., is the largest chicken company in Puerto Rico and the second-largest chicken company in Mexico.
