This is a school "Where Education Begins..." Students at Little White House are taught their ABCs and healthy self-esteem. The school's focus is not only on education, but on socialization as well. Reading, writing and math are reinforced with music, art and drama.
This school for 3- to 5-year-olds is affiliated with Milford Christian Church, which is right next door. The young students are taught how to write. They are also prepared to read so they can ultimately soar into grade school.
Kiddie Korner Nursery School encourages creativity in 3- and 4-year-olds so they can become socially competent, self-fulfilled and independent. Play time, crafts, story time, field trips and music activities fill the schedule. The school is housed in a private home.
St. Gabriel School is a learning institution where more than 200 boys and girls from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade are taught math, English, Spanish and all other academic subjects—as well as Catholic values. A school tenet is: "Personal excellence—accept nothing less." Homework help is available for students after school Monday through Thursday, for which at least one teacher is present. Children of all religious affiliations—and with special needs—are accepted.
St. Mary School is a Catholic school that offers the community a preschool program and classes for kindergarten through eighth grade. Even though it is a Catholic school, students from all faiths are welcome to attend. The curriculum is composed of religion, language arts, math, science, social studies, arts, music, physical education, health, Spanish and Latin classes . Computers are in every classroom to enhance learning.
Sandcastle Learning Center is located on a quiet, dead-end street (corner of Woodmont and Brewster) with a large free parking lot that is handicapped accessible. The Center's entrance is in the rear of the one-story building and the entrance is locked for added security (ring the doorbell and someone will let you in). Since 2008, Sandcastle has offered pre-school and day care services for children ages one to five years. It has a capacity of 64 children and employs a staff of 12. Sandcastle Learning Center is open weekdays from 7am to 6pm.
