Calvary Cross Chapel Preschool has been serving the Cerritos community since August of 1974. Its non-denominational program offers preschool classes to children aged 2 years, 9 months to five years. It also offers extended day care for children grades K - 6 who are currently attending neighboring Burbank, Juarez and Niemas Elementary Schools. The facility houses a spacious playground and has separate classrooms for each age group. Apart from its pre-kindergarten readiness program, the school also exposes students to gymnastics, dance, music and arts and crafts. It looks bigger than it really is, because it is attached to a church. There are only 15 to 20 kids here. It is more of a day care than a school. It is located in the very back, behind the church. The kids mainly have recess and sing songs, before and after their naps.
Cerritos Lane Pre-School is located on Cabrillo Lane in Cerritos. It can be found across the way from ABC Adult School and next door to a small strip mall that has a tutoring service, a tailor and a bakery. During the regular school year, this school offers tutoring, child care and afterschool programming for children ages 2-12. Day camp is available during the summer months. Field trips, activities and swim lessons are the usual offerings. Citizenship and working together are emphasized. Tuition is reasonable. Staff members are experienced, patient and engaging.
Crossroads Multinational offers worship services every Sunday for children, youth and adults. The church also offers drama, music, youth groups and children's, men's and women's ministries to help spread the teachings of Jesus Christ. The church holds "cell groups" that discuss the purpose of worship, accountability, bonding and growth. It invites members to become involved with these groups and come together with the church and community. The mission of the church is, "to win people, grow people and train people." The church also meets on Wednesdays for youth classes.
Affiliated with the Chinese Church of Christ of Los Angeles, the Joy Preschool provides opportunities to meet the spiritual, academic, physical and intellectual needs of each child. Joy Preschool has open enrollment to parents who are members of the Chinese Church of Christ of Los Angeles and children of the community ages 2 to 5 years old.
FECC Children Academy is an educational institution affiliated with the First Evangelical Church of Cerritos. It provides a safe and welcoming environment for children, with programs for students ages two to six. The school has a variety of programs, including full and half-day programs, as well as a potty training program for children in diapers or pull-ups. The academy offers numerous lessons and activities, including lessons on family, reading, math, religion and more. The school also offers extracurricular activities, including athletics, ballet and gymnastics.
Sonshine Preschool is part of the Crossroads Multinational Church of the Nazarene and offers full-time and half-day programs to children ages two to five. Students are provided with a challenging curriculum in a Christian environment that aids students in social, physical, intellectual, spiritual and emotional development.
Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks are provided to students in the full and half-day programs. Besides academic growth, the program also focuses on developing a child's learning process through play, reading readiness, math concepts, music appreciation, body rhythmic, stories, creative art, science and health.
