Murrieta Ranch Preschool is on Lincoln Avenue near Los Alamos Road. This non-sectarian preschool and kindergarten was established in 1993 by Miss Cindy, who has more than 40 years of experience in early childhood development. The 7,400 square foot facility provides a "safe, warm and developmentally appropriate environment" for children up to age 5. Murrieta Ranch provides quality childcare programs that encourage healthy self-esteem. These programs encompass learning, arts and crafts, dress up and interaction with animals. Lunch and snacks are included in the tuition.
Located conveniently off Interstate 215 at Los Alamos Road, Murrieta University serves young ones aged 18 months through pre-K. The child development center has an 11,000-square-foot grass playground and individually themed classrooms.
Instruction includes literarcy/language arts, dramatic play, music and movement, manipulative and construction, and art and sensory.
Tours of the center are offered Monday through Friday between 9am and 5 pm (except between 1pm and 2:30pm).
Promise Lutheran Church is located on Madison Avenue, several blocks south of the main commercial stretch of town. The church and preschool are located on the premises. Three services are offered every Sunday morning and in addition to the preschool, it has programs for youth on Wednesday evenings. Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools has been offering Christ-centered education in Murrieta since 1993. The tuition-based school serves students from preschool through grade 12, and shares its site with Calvary Chapel Murrieta church on Monroe Avenue.
Beginning in preschool, Bible is one of the core subjects taught, as are all other core subjects such as history, reading, writing, math, spelling and science. In junior high, humanities and social studies are introduced. World languages are offered beginning in high school, as well as advanced placement courses in many areas. Fine arts are a large part of the curriculum, with band and choir beginning in fourth grade.
Competitive sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, soccer and others are available for students beginning in junior high. A wide variety of extracurricular activities and clubs are also offered.
Classrooms for preschool through sixth grades are located in a separate building on a lower campus, while junior high and high school classrooms are housed on the upper, main campus. Each part of campus is outfitted with its own cafeteria and library.
Head Start is a pre-school with a mission to promote school readiness and cognitive development for children between the ages of 3 and 4 that come from low income families. Head Start offers health, educational, transportation, nutritional and social services based on family needs assessments. Recruitment and enrollment of children with disabilities is a major priority. The school is bright and colorful, with multiple rooms and playgrounds in which children can learn and grow. Part-day and full-day programs are available.
