Founded in 1957, Palma Sola Presbyterian serves a congregation of about 300 under the guidance of its pastor, Reverend Doctor Paul T. Eckel. It offers before- and after-school care, as well as a preschool that operates out of its building and serves about 130 students.
About 1,500 members congregate each week under the high-arched ceilings of Trinity's sanctuary and are led in worship by senior pastor James Rosenburg. Its grounds are home to a gym, fellowship hall and the Trinity Children's Center preschool. The church hosts Wednesday family dinners, faith groups and other activities.
Jump Dance Company has something for everyone from ages 2 to adult. It offers dance classes for all age ranges according to the Dance Masters of America syllabus and in all styles - jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop and more. The Jump Start preschool and voluntary pre-K program provide students with daily instruction in art, music and dance, and they perform in a year-end recital.
Jump Dance Company's building, located near the Ranch Animal Hospital and Community Bank, is also home to the Bare Necessities dance supply store.
Kids Academy Plus II, a childcare center, is located just north of Cortez Road on 38th Avenue West. It is an accredited VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) Florida Department of Education program that helps children and administrators with readiness rate for pre-school. Early learning has proved to be essential for successful child development and Kids Academy Plus encourages parents of 2, 3, and 4-year-old to enroll. A Child's Galaxy believes in smaller class sizes in an atmosphere reminiscent of home. It offers toddler, preschool, VPK, summer camp and after-school programs for kids from 4 months to 12 years old.
The school has been run by Carol Daniel and Kristen Terrell, a mother-and-daughter team who purchased it in 2004.
