Peppermint Stick Children's Center is a pre-school and daycare center that encourages learning and fun for young children. The school was founded 40 years ago and prides itself on creating a safe environment for children where they can learn and develop. It offers toddler classes ages 15 to 24 months, full- and half-day kindergarten, before and after school programs that include school pick-up, and summer camp. Full day childcare is available for children between the ages of 15 months and 12 years. Peppermint Stick has playground equipment, provides all meals, offers flexible schedules and is DCFS licensed. All children in Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50 attend Woodland Primary School for early childhood education and kindergarten programs. The half-day classes focus on pre-reading and reading skills. The average class size for kindergarten is 20 students or less so that teachers can give individual attention to each child.
St. Gilbert Catholic School is a Catholic school serving children from throughout the area in grades K-8. The Grayslake school will also offer Pre-school programs for the first time in 2010-11.
