Sunshine Daycare Center opened its doors to the Bed-Stuy community in 1999 . Owned by Mary Jane Charles, the daycare is of great benefit to the many working parents who live in the area. The building has undergone intense reconstruction from its days as a garage and the children who attend are gifted with a clean, organized, well-lit learning and play environment. Many children thrive from their experiences at Sunshine, which include exposure to tap, ballet, martial arts and piano.
Trilok Fusion Center for Arts & Education is a nonprofit organization which endeavors to provide its community with a cultural and artistic facility. Offering summer and after-school programs for children, including Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance, music, cooking, language classes, photography, yoga, art, theater and more, Trilok Fusion Center additionally provides studio rental space for workshops, events and parties, and is home to a preschool which caters to students ages 2 to 5.
Prospect Kids Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum that introduces students to the arts, sciences, Spanish and technology. Teachers engage students in independent, group and one-on-one learning sessions. This school is dedicated to preparing students for kindergarten with a sound academic foundation.
