The Rinx of Hauppauge operates its own preschool for children 2 years old to 5 years old located inside the same building as the ice skating rink. It offers half-day programs such as Mommy and Me, the 2-year-old Separation Program and the 2-year-old Playgroup Program, all of which focus on preschool readiness and motor skills. The half-day programs also help parents and young children gradually separate and ease the transition to a school environment. Its full-day program for children 3 years old to 5 years old is divided by age group. It is designed to provide interactive learning in language, science, math, art, preschool manipulatives and dramatic play. It also has a computer/library lab. Outdoor playground recreation and ice skating lessons are included in the tuition.
Small Steps is located at the Hauppauge schools administration building, on Hoffman Lane in Hauppauge. It is a licensed child care business that takes care of children aging from 18 months to 5 years old.
