The concept mixes, twists and bakes pretzels to golden brown perfection in view of customers. Anne Beiler founded Auntie Anne s in 1988. She started in a Downingtown, Pa., farmers market selling pretzels and lemonade. Auntie Annes began franchising in 1989.
