Baptist Christian School began in 1965 as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Hemet, Calif. After beginning with kindergarten and first grade, the schools program expanded to include preschool through ninth grade by 1973. The school is a charter member of the Association of Christian Schools International and is accredited by the organization, which represents more than 5,000 Christian schools nationally and internationally. The Association of Christian Schools International certifies the teachers at Baptist Christian School. The preschool offers a traditional school year program enhanced by an eight-week summer program and has state-of the-art equipment and two playgrounds. The elementary school offers a Bible-centered curriculum and activities such as speech meet, spelling bee, art program, music contests, math Olympics, field trips, physical fitness, intramural program and pentathlon competition. It also has a secondary school.
