The St. Louis Blues Hockey Club is the National Hockey League s St. Louis-based franchise. The organization began play in 1967 along with five other NHL expansion teams. Its team name was inspired by the famous W.C. Handy tune St. Louis Blues and its colors are blue, white and gold. The team has won seven division championships 1969, 1970, 1977, 1981, 1985, 1987 and 2000 and inducted 10 players Doug Harvey, Dickie Moore, Glenn Hall, Jacques Plante, Peter Statsny, Wayne Gretzky, Joe Mullen, Dale Hawerchuk, Bernie Federko and Grant Fuhr into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The St. Louis Blues home is the 21,000-capacity Savvis Center in St. Louis.
