In 2002, R-Quip Equipment Rental opened its doors with the idea of providing the best equipment and unsurpassed service to homeowners and construction professionals in the south central Kansas region. Founded by Bob Richardson, R-Quip has a storied history of serving the Wichita rental market. Bob began working in the rental industry in 1968 for his father Glenn at his small rental store, AAA Rent-All, in Wichita, KS which was founded in 1966. In 1974, Bob and his brother-in-law were offered the opportunity to purchase the company. Over the next 20 years, AAA Rent-All grew into a seven location, two-state rental business, with 97 employees and a rental fleet valued at several million dollars. In 1997, Bob and his brother-in-law were approached by Rental Service Corporation about the possibility of selling their business. After many restless nights and several meetings, the two decided it was time to sell the company. Bob stayed on with RSC for a short while before eventually leaving the rental industry. After a two-year period ( non-competes dont last forever ), Bob decided to get back into the rental industry. With the knowledge in hand, the strong desire to be the best rental company, and his youngest son eager to learn, R-Quip Equipment Rental was formed. Today all three sons work R-Quip Equipment Rental. Eric, Troy, and Cody are actively involved in the growth of R-Quip ; anywhere from scheduling deliveries, to sales, to business operations. R-Quip continues to grow and now has two locations, 27 employees, a growing customer list, and a rental fleet that just keeps getting bigger.
