Meet Frank Adair Frank Adair, MD, is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who has been in private practice in the Bay Area since 1989. Dr. Adair is a compassionate and kind provider who works with adult patients age 25 and older at his office in Palo Alto, California.  Dr. Adair’s approach to treatment focuses primarily on psychotherapy based on the work of Carl Jung. Although not a certified analyst, Dr. Adair has studied Jung’s work for more than 34 years. He’s trained with members of the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco as well as the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich. He has been in his own personal analysis for 34 years. He uses a variety of Jungian techniques with patients, including dream analysis, active imagination, and sandplay therapy. Dr. Adair is also well versed in multiple therapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, goal-directed psychotherapy, and positive psychology. Dr. Adair is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association. After earning his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Dr. Adair went on to complete his internship and residency in general psychiatry at the University of Utah Medical School in Salt Lake City. While there, he also completed a one-year Fellowship in Consultation/Liaison Psychiatry.  He’s certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the International Society for Sandplay Therapy, and the Sandplay Therapists of America. He continues to pursue training through The Institute for Functional Medicine®, so he can better help patients achieve a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Dr. Adair offers medication management for selected psychotherapy patients with stress, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). All of his treatment is on an outpatient basis. His practice is an LGBTQ safe place.    Outside of working with patients, Dr. Adair devotes considerable philanthropic energy for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.  He is an avid cyclist who is currently training for his eighth year riding in the AIDS LifeCycle bike ride event from San Francisco to Los Angeles held in June.  Always in the top 50 fundraisers out of 3000 cyclists, he and his donors have raised over $212,000.00 for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation thus far.
