Pickett's Mill Elementary School is a part of the Cobb County School District, located near Allatoona High School. The school was named after one of the most well-preserved Civil War battlefields in the nation, Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site. Pickett's Mill was established with the goal to relieve the overcrowded conditions at feeder schools in the northwest Cobb area, and was built with funds from SPLOST II. The school was named as one of the "Green Schools" in Cobb County, and serves more than 726 students in grades PK-5.
