Clayton J. Davenport Elementary School, located in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., is a public school that enrolls more than 550 students in grades kindergarten through two. Its curriculum consists of the New Jersey mandated programs based on the core curriculum content standards. The early childhood education classes develop a childs positive self-concept and attitude toward school and learning and provide foundation experiences which enhance the childs physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth. At the primary level the emphasis is on building foundation for reading and mathematics. In addition, both science and social studies are introduced. Support services include counselors, nurse, library, art, music, physical education, computers, speech and English as a second language, with students learning Spanish twice each week.
