Atlanta's 97.1 FM The River promises to deliver classic rock hits on regular rotation. Though their transmitter is in Gainesville, it gives the station a strong signal, even into neighboring states. Cox radio broadcasts the station from their main office in the WSB complex in Midtown.

CBS Atlanta went on the air on June 6, 1971. It was then part of the Christian Broadcasting Network and its call letters were WHAE-TV, which stood for "Heaven And Earth." Throughout the years, the station has changed owners and modified its programming.
